[She waits until he stops moving, then places a hand on his head, scratching one ear absently as she speaks.]

It's not about knowing or not knowing. You led him to think you were something you weren't, whether you did it on purpose or not, and he confided in you. Then he found out that what he believed wasn't true. In a way...he trusted someone who didn't really exist...and gave you something he didn't mean to give.

You can't get distracted and apologize just to make yourself feel better. You can't make him accept it, and you can't force him to accept your help either. Do you understand?

I'm sure he will be. And I'm not saying you have to give up on him altogether, so don't look like that! But you know, from what I know about Shinjiro, he'll probably need a little while alone to get used to what happened. I think his pride is probably more hurt than anything.
