✪ Lost Puppy! What is this? ✪ [Accidental Video]

[The video feed starts off dark with some growling noises followed by some sniffing. The screen clears up and shows a purple canine as Cube pulls his snout away from the screen. He cocks his head, looking curiously at the communicator. One of his ears flops to the side for a moment as he stares.

Suddenly, his eyes light up as his ears spring at a thought in his mind. The screen goes dark again as Cube picks up the communicator in his mouth. The sound of panting and quick paw steps can be heard for a few moments before he pulls away. Upside down, Shinji's face looms into the screen, looking down at the device now in his hand.]

What the hell's this?

[Shinji looks over the communicator for a moment]

This isn't mine

...

What, did you steal this?!

[The communicator flips around to show Cube's paws and the floor as Shinji looks at it some more. Turning it back around, he shrugs.]

Well, whatever sap lost this probably doesn't deserve it, anyhow... you can have it as a chew toy, boy.

[The communicator hits the floor and the purple pup runs after it, happily thinking it's a game of fetch now, returning it to Shinji as he grumbles.]

Look, it's not mine... I don't even want one, hell if I'm keeping two. You keep it.

["Keep it? Well, I guess so. It's kind of fun, just like Master's." Cube spends the rest of the video feed staring at the communicator, waiting for it do something interesting so he can play with it.]

[His ears spring up.

"Hello! Are you going to play?"

However, there is no barking, just panting and happy tail wagging.]

[oh right, dogs are more physical, it's been a while.... video pops up.]

(Uh, I would if I could, but the professor doesn't like me leaving the apartment!)

[It's a person! And they understand!! He looks very shocked but very excited. His tail swooshing back and forth very fast.

"Professor? Is that your master's name? Do you have a Master as well?"

Oh, there were so many things to say to a person... It was hard to contain himself.]

(Ah, well, he's more like my teacher, actually! He's very kind!)

["Professor-san... that makes sense. Professor means teacher, does it not?" And why does he know this? He doesn't know.

"My name is Fireball. What's yours? It's nice to speak with a person who understands... I didn't know there were persons who understood dogs..."]

(It does!

It's a pleasure to meet you, Fireball! I'm Luke! And I do! I can talk to all sorts of different animals! Though I've never met anybody else who could, so... I)

[It's a pleasure to meet you too, Luke-san. I'm sure lots of animals enjoy speaking with you...

I'm really happy Master gave this device to me, now. How long has Luke-san been with Professor-san? Did he find you too?"]

(Ah, I guess. It's been a while since I've talked with any animals... most of the ones around here are really mean...

Oh, the scientists didn't give you yours? I've seen other animals with devices here... Ah-ah, no! The professor is friends with my father! He sent me with him to learn how to be a gentleman!)

[I've spoke with a bird and there are kittens right next door! They're very nice kittens... they're not like... other cats..." He stops here, not knowing where he met other cats from before.

"No. It made a painful buzzing shock and woke me up and I thought it was Master's but he said it isn't. I'm not sure where it came from...

A gentleman? That's wonderful! Professor-san must be a very good man."]

(Do you mean Chocobo?

Oh? Well, I would think the scientists did give it to you then! A buzzing? Uhm... Maybe that's that thing it does when it malfunctions?

He is! I'm very glad he's here!)

["I think that was his name. You're right, Luke-san. I think that's him!

They did? Why would they give it to me... and if it malfunctioned... why did they give me a broken thing?

What does he look like? Maybe I have seen him before? Is he tall? Does he speak with animals too?"]

(Ah! He's nice! Strong, too!

I guess anybody they bring here gets one... I'm not sure why they malfunction, but it happens to a lot of people. I've never had it happen to me, though.

He is very tall! It's hard to miss him with his top hat on, too! He keeps it off around here, though, I think it's because he doesn't want it damaged--and, no, I'm the only person I know who can speak to animals At least the only normal human. There's a goddess who can speak to animals, too!)

[Strong? I've never actually met him... Master let me speak with him on the communicator once...

I see. That seems a little odd, but I suppose it can't he helped. I'm very glad I got one now too. I can speak with you and some of the other animals. Master is very nice but he hasn't gone out very much lately...

Is his hat a very important thing to him?

A goddess? Here? ... Is she nice?]

(Oh? Well, I've only seen him a couple of times, but when we did meet for the first time, it was amazing!

You said there were kittens here right? I know the professor got me a kitten, are they the other kittens from her litter?

I'm pretty sure. He wears it all the time back home and keeps very good care of it. He's had it as long as I've known him, too! I'm not sure why, though, he always says he'll tell me the story when I'm a bit older. I haven't asked in a while... maybe I'll ask him later.

Well, of course she is! I'm in the same music band as her. She has a very beautiful voice! I'm sure you'd love to meet her!)

["Why was it amazing? What happened?

Yes, they said they had other brothers and sisters... perhaps your kitten is one of them? What is your kitten's name?

That makes me curious now. I wonder what the story is behind his hat... it must be very special to him.

Oh! I want to meet her! She sounds wonderful. I want to meet you too, Luke-san. I want to meet many people!]

(Well, a month or so ago there was this HUGE zombie invasion! Well, Chocobo had reappeared in the city right in front of the hospital, so he was all caught up in the mess, so I went out to help him! You wouldn't believe how amazing he is at fighting! I think he took on ten of those zombies all at once!! [Btw, this is becoming one of those fish tale stories.]

Ah! There's lots of really nice people here, that's for sure! I knwo I've made a lot of friends here!)

(It was! Dangerous, too, I'm glad he was there...

I'm not sure... I don't think I can ask her, though, because somebody else would have name the kittens... Surely she would if she saw them. She does a very good memory.

Well of course we are! I don't see why not--uhm, I live in Laimir 108! That's on the first floor, we live right next door to the stairs! You're welcome to come visit anytime! I'm sure the professor won't mind)

["I want to see him fend of zombies too... but as long as everyone... was safe..." Although, that Zombie invasion... sounds familiar...

"They live next door to me... if only there was some way they could meet...

I think I know where Latimir is. I want to visit Luke-san..."

His tail wags a bit more and he rolls upside-down]

(I think so... I didn't know anybody who got really hurt when it all happened, so that must mean not many if any at all!

Where do you live, Fireball?) [He can't help but beam as he rolsl over. Dogs are so cute.]

["Wow! Zombies are very nasty, though... how... how did you deal with them?"

He rolls back upside right, tail swill swaying.

"I live in Horton, with Master. Wolfwood just came back... but he doesn't remember anything about us... it is very... strange."]

(Uh... I had a pillow! [IS SO HORRIFYING ;~;""]

It happens to people when they come back a lot. I know I don't remember my last stay here.

Next time me and the professor are over there, I'll see if I can come play, too! We do supply runs a lot, so were over there on occasion!)
