✪ One Week ✪ [Text]

~~☆~~
Dear Sir Gunbard and Miss Yucie,
So far, it's been a week away from home. Feels as though I'm still dreaming. This city called Discedo is more mysterious with each day that passes. It looks deserted at times but there is always chatter over the radio devices. Unfortunately, I'm unable to cast any magic. Not even the weakest of it works. I can't even summon Soraoto for items. The residents here say there is a small device placed under my that is causing the trouble. Living without any magic for a week as been a bit strange. I've never realized, before my arrival here, just how much I relied on magic. I wonder if this is how other non-magical beings feel like. It's quite an experience. As optimistic as I try to stay, I'm having trouble staying that way. The more I learn about this city's history, the more depressing I become. There was even a man here who passed on with unfulfilled aspirations because I could not provide any magical assistance at all.

However, do not worry. Not everything is gloomy here. I've have met quite a deal of friendly people here. Even the unfriendly ones are a bit interesting to talk to... even if most of them appear to have lost their minds. Miss Yucie, you would love to see the bird they have here. They're giant yellow birds called Chocobos that you can ride much like you would a steed. I can imagine you riding on one, if only to fall off. I know you could do it, Miss. Even you, as well, Master! They would be an interesting addition to a carriage, don't you agree?

As much as I wish I were home, I hope you're both getting along well without my assistance. Please pass on my regards to everyone. I really am starting to feel homesick.

Sincerely,
Cube

Good Morning, Discedo!

Thank you Miss Iji and Miss Utena for all your help with moving the love seat! It really fills the empty space in here, making it more comfortable, to say the least. Thank you so very much!

Also, thank you so much Mr. Kanji for bringing over that spindle of thread and needle. I didn't quite use it all, if you'd like me to return the rest. Let me know if there is anything I can do for you sometime.

Mr. Vash, I hope you feel better today. Oh, Miss Gracia, I do hope the walls are a little nicer to you lately. You have me worried. I also hope you're healing well, Mr. Johnny. Please try not to get burned next time you dance.

Um, does anyone know the name of a man who recently passed on? I don't know his name, so I don't know how to explain besides he said he was dying... I want to sends my regards and wishes he rests in peace.

((OOC: Cube thinks [personal profile] nouvelliste is dead thanks to the brownie madness. Feel free to confuse him further, though. Tags might be slow for a few hours too.))

Wait, you've never heard of Japan, but you speak Japanese?

- I'll keep an eye out for that guy; he might just've had a few too many and started rambling.

They must be! It's just Japan that speaks the language in my world... and that's where the name comes from, yes.

It sounds like something weird was going on, anyway... hopefully he's all right!

I'm Tsuzuki Asato. Nice to meet you, Cube!

[Voice | Japanese] Aren't they fun? XD

[identity profile] cinnagami.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
You're not from the human world? What's your world like? That might explain it, actually -

Haha, just Asato is fine, or Tsuzuki - whichever you prefer! Most everyone I know just calls me Tsuzuki. Tell me if you spot him around, okay?

It's ... gosh, hard question. The cities are big and populous, but there's a lot of history, especially in the more rural areas. It's getting pretty Westernized these days, especially in the big cities. Uh... there are four seasons, and lots of great scenery, especially with the cherry blossoms in spring and fall leaves in the autumn.

Yeah, I think we are from different places... There are quite a few worlds where I'm from too, but they're not quite the same as what you're describing.

Sounds like a nice place, though!

Westernized... uh, well, it means it's got a lot of influence from other countries to the West... and to the East, really, given that America's east of us. It's funny when you think about the words we use for that...

We've got plenty of festivals! Different ones in every town, though there are a couple of big ones that everyone celebrates.

Maybe! It's hard to tell, though I'm pretty sure it's not connected now.

Your festivals definitely sound a lot like ours! Masks are a bit more popular than full costumes for kids, but we've got the street carts and - do you mean fireworks? Explosives that shoot out bright colors in the sky when they blow up?

Balls can be pretty fun too. How can you not like any party that comes with dancing and a buffet table?

We've got magic back home, but we don't use it much for entertainment. Which is funny when you think about it: it always draws a crows...

Yeah, if they weren't connected, they've sure developed along the same lines. ♥

Of course they do! It's the best reason to go! - at least to the Earl's. He has the best caterers. Wouldn't think it to look at him, but Watson's quite the cook....

Yeah, your world... sounds a whole lot like ours. And I wouldn't call that entertainment, myself.

Nah, he and the Earl aren't here. It's definitely for the best, though. The Earl's got a much more important job than mine! I do a bit of cooking myself, but around here nobody's got enough seasonings to make it worth the trouble.

...You're a demon? I-I mean. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, but you seem so nice...!

[identity profile] cinnagami.livejournal.com 2009-06-01 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
Well, back home it's a bit complicated to explain, but here I'm working with the police force.

I can believe that! I mean, I've kind of tried to keep my distance from the demons back home, so I pretty much only see the ones who show up to make trouble. It's a biased sample. I bet the human world's a lot easier on the nerves - and it sounds like a really nice part of it that you live in.

Yeah, it's nice that there's so much organization here. Honestly, I'm not the most... effective of the officers, but I'm glad there's something I can do to help people out here.

Well... like I said, the demons I've seen were the nasty kind. Possession, murder, sealing contracts with kids' lives, and so on....

Haha, don't I wish? Repeat that to the department secretary if he ever shows up here. Maybe I'll finally get that raise ♥

...Yeah. Sorry.

[Voice | Japanese]

[identity profile] cinnagami.livejournal.com 2009-06-01 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he's scary sometimes, but he's a nice guy on the inside. Deep inside.

...It's the same way where you're from?

[Voice | Japanese]

[identity profile] cinnagami.livejournal.com 2009-06-02 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I think you're right. I just wish people listened to it more often.

Hm... definitely different, yeah. And I've never been to Hell. It'd end up being, uh... kind of an issue politically.
