[Cube doesn't make eye contact with the camera as he speaks, almost as if he were a shy child. However, his voice is soft and sad. Still, he pushes the words out as he knows they need to be said. Everything is then repeated in text.]

I'd like to make an announcement. In a previous post I had stated I was going to charge for medical assistance, including chip removals, and allow people to disregard any medical paperwork. Unaware to most, it was not actually I who made these claims.

There will never be a charge for medical attention or for chip removals under my supervision. I apologize for any issues this brings up and will address concerns on a case-to-case basis. If you did indeed make a deal with the one posing as me, then please advise me of so and I'll do by best to return any property of yours or something sufficient in case it was not something that can be physically returned.

I'm truly sorry to those who were harassed and humiliated. Some of the incidents I'm aware of, while others I may not. Either way, I assure you I will do what I can to prevent such an event from ever happening again.

I regret ever introducing him to you and wish there were some way to reverse what he has done. Even if you don't trust me, I hope you don't immediately distrust other demons because of Soraoto and I. You're a fine young gentleman, and I will respect any actions you take towards me as long as they're only towards me and Soraoto and not any others.

Gakupo seems to get mad easily, but if he's still willing to work by your side and you really explain it, I'm sure he'll understand eventually. And if not, send him my way and I'll explain it.

Me and Gakupo? Not especially. Mostly it was jut that Japan asked me to look after him when we all came to Spero. Oh, but he did teach me a song.

Yes. I've found out it causes those with mechanical parts, like cyborgs and robots, pain and... well... makes them do very odd things. Soraoto played it for Gakupo and I- I recall him making animal sounds and acting strange.

I-If Saburo is truly here... t-then it must not work on him.

It's happened so many times now, I've found ways to not worry about it. I-I admit, it hurts, but you can't blame them and the energy is wasted on worrying or crying over it. All we can do is watch over them during their stay here and hope to be friends once more.

May I ask you a favor? Not now, but sometime... would you mind sharing a story or two with me about your life as a pirate? One of my first friends in Discedo was a pirate, though I believe he was a bit different than most, but since then I've always been curious what kind of life it entailed. I regret not asking him more about it while he was here.

I guess I could tell you about the first time I met Ace, if you'd like.

He wanted to become King of the Pirates. He was wild, young, and reckless. Burned up the whole Grand Line it seemed like, as Captain of the Spade Pirates, his own crew. Even the marines saw his talent and tried to get him to join them.

Like many a young fool, Ace thought the way to becoming Pirate King was through killing my Pops and claiming his title as the Strongest Man in the World. Well, our ally Jinbei wasn't about to let that happen, so they fought for 5 days straight, and neither of them refused to stop or rest. On the fifth day, Pops wanted to know what kind of a psycho could be that determined to take his head. So we went down to meet him. And Ace gave it his best, but he figured out pretty quickly that he was beat, so he told his crew to run for it and tried to throw himself at Pops alone.

Even back then my old man saw something special in the kid, and asked Ace to join. Ace refused of course and passed out, so we beat up his crew because they didn't run away, just tried to get Ace back and beat us up. So we took them with us. When he came to on our ship Thatch went to talk to him -- Thatch was usually the best with new guys, eh? It didn't really calm Ace down though, after that he tried to kill Pops about a couple hundred more different ways. Axes, knives, fire, you name it. We had betting pools on when and how he'd strike next. But Pops always just waited Ace out, to see if he'd ever channel that wildfire to something to make him happy instead, eh?

Don't tell him I said this, but he was a pretty cute kid. He was so fucking stubborn. He'd refuse to join meals sometimes, just sit out on deck like a lost puppy, so I was always bringing him chowder or whatever. When he finally agreed to join, and then had the guts to go off and get the same tattoo as Pops, a big huge one across his back -- that was easily one of the happiest days of my life.

[Cube's thoughts and feelings start off worried. It triggered old memories he had of Ace, when he went crazy (Like have the town during that event) and hurt people. Listening further, the demon's worry only increased as he heard about Ace refusals.

He ends up sighing with a smile at hearing the outcome though.]

I promise not to tell him. However, I'm rather glad he has someone like you to watch over him.

Was there any particular event that you know of that made him change his mind in the end?

Oh, and does everyone of your father's crew wear the same symbol?

Hah, thanks. It's always fun looking out for him when I can. Just a bit more heartbreaking when there's nothing I can do, but that's natural for anyone I suppose.

Hm... particular event... I'm not sure. I think Thatch played a big hand in it. I know Ace asked me why we all call our old man "Pops" once, that was pretty close to when he decided to join, but I think he'd already been making up his mind by then. Ace is pretty stubborn about things like that. If he doesn't work it out for himself, he won't believe it no matter what I think.

And no, not exactly. Namur has an 8 tattooed on his neck for the division he commands, and Pops and Ace had the whole flag tattooed on their backs; with the crossed bones like a Tee-shape, and then the crescent mustache curving up. Most of the rest of us have that outline of that. It's not required, but we're all proud to wear it and it's a good way of telling the world to back off or we'll kick their asses for trying anything.
