I'm not sure who all she knew but...

Miss Reisen Inaba was sent home.

It's unfortunate how we're never allowed to say goodbye...

... but perhaps it's better that way.

[A long pause. His voice doesn't seem sad, or hint at any sound of crying... just firm.]

Then again, she may just appear again in a few days...

[He packs a few things and starts on his way]

[Flandre is very good at waiting, at least.

Though she's probably huddled in a corner.]

[Cube gets there and looks around for her. Flandre's dull rainbow wings give her away though. The sights does cause his ears to droop.]

Flandre-chan...

[He goes over to her and kneels down]

I'm here, Flandre-chan.

[Her wings twitched a bit when Cube called her name, though she kept staring at the floor for awhile. When she does look up at him, Flandre does quite resemble a kicked puppy. Her expression is very, very sad.

She starts to say something--and cannot.

The vampire instead just...hugs Cube, clinging desperately like a child to a parent.

And she doesn't let go.]

[Cube's ears remained at their lowered level as the vampire clung to him. He wrapped his arms around her and held her quietly for a bit. As much as tears tried to fall from his eyes he did not let them.

His hug loosened a little but he did not separate from Flandre]

It will be ok...

[Even though he wasn't so sure about that himself.]

Reisen said....Reisen said she wouldn't leave.

[Her voice is strained and quiet. Sad.]

[Cube didn't know what to say. If Reisen really said that.... but she wouldn't. She knew she had no control over who came and who left... so why did she-

Cube hugged Flandre tightly again as a thought came to his mind]

Even if her body is not here... Miss Reisen is still in our hearts...

["I don't have any reason to leave," was what Reisen had said--easily misinterpreted in Flandre's mind.]

[She sniffles, though she seems a bit less distraught than before. A bit.]

I don't...want to be alone again...

[He takes in a breath and slowly exhales it]

People can not always choose how long they will be around. You just have be thankful for the time you've spent with them. It is alright to mourn and miss them, but it is also important to smile for them and continue on so they do not feel responsible for your sadness. I'm sure Miss Reisen would not want you to cry for her... not for very long.

I can't promise you I won't leave. I have no choice in that matter... whether it's in this world or any world.

But I will promise that when I return to my world... I will come to see Flandre-chan and play with her... no matter how long it takes. Just as I will for Miss Reisen.

[Flandre is mostly quiet; listening. The vampire made a soft keening noise at some of Cube's words, but didn't interrupt.

It was a long time before she said anything.]

...I'll wait for you. Like Remi, and Meiling and Sakuya...

[Cube held tight... but something bothered him...]

I thought .... Miss Reisen and Flandre-san were from the same world...

[Though Flandre appreciates this--she still looks up at him.]

I don't...get to see her, at home. Or anyone, really...

[Cubes looks like he is about to breakdown but he doesn't. He saves himself by giving Flandre another hug]

It'll get better... specially when I come.

[Or so he thinks]

[Flandre makes the same keening sound, even as she curls up in a trusting ball.]

Yes.

[Her face seems a little concerned now.]

[He doesn't say anything. Cube is bottling everything forever. He can't let Flandre- or anyone at all- see him cry. He knew this day would come. He can't... besides Flandre needs him, right? He'll stay with her until she smiles... or sleeps.]

[Even though she feels better than she did before, Flandre isn't really...happy.

But she was comfortable. Sleep seemed more likely.]

[He pet her back gently]

Can I get Flandre-chan anything...?

[She relaxes.]

...no just...stay here.

[Cube wouldn't disappear if she was looking at him, right?]

I'm here.

[Cube had work to do but... he felt this was more important right now. His mind started to wonder in the silence. He pulled away from Flandre but to sit next to her. He put him arm around her and held her in his arm.]

I'm not going anywhere...

...stay.

[It was as much a murmur to herself as anything else. She was about as resistant as a ragdoll to being moved.]

...thank you.

[His hand continued to rub her. Soon, the little demon rest his head against the small vampire's hat and stayed there. For how long, he did not know. It did not matter. He did not sleep he just sat there with her.

Even though he was holding Flandre...

... he still felt an unreal loneliness.]

It was right then that Patchouli walked to them. She spoke to Cube]

...I heard what happened. I know you were close. I am sorry.

[Cube turned his attention towards Patchouli but kept his arm around Flandre. His voice was soft, but not due to sadness.]

Thank you...

but... I know I'll see her again.

[He looked at Flandre once more, before looking back at Patchouli]

Will she wake if I move?
